The lawyer defending the Irish nanny accused of assaulting and killing a baby in Boston has demanded mountains of evidence about who had access to the little girl in the months before she died.

One-year-old Rehma Sabir had been travelling in Pakistan with her parents for three weeks around Christmas. The family also visited Saudi Arabia. Before travelling to Asia, she had an “extended stay” in London with relatives.

A central plank of the defence’s case is that the baby’s many fractures date back so far that they may have happened during this period overseas.
