A small plot of strategic land in Foynes port which sold for about €13m at the height of the Celtic Tiger is now being sold off for less than €2m.

The quayside site changed hands in highly controversial circumstances at the height of the property boom.

Original owners Shannon Foynes Port Company are now in talks to buy back the property.
