Saoirse lands star role in ‘Twilight’ follow-up flick

Saoirse Ronan has revealed it was a dream come true to take the starring role in the hotly anticipated new movie from the creator of the billion-euro Twilight franchise, Stephenie Meyer.

The Carlow actress beat competition from a host of young starlets to land the leading role in the sci-fi flick The Host, which is already causing a huge buzz around Hollywood.

With The Host anticipated to generate the same hysteria as the Twilight saga, the Oscar-nominated actress is expected to be catapulted to the level of fame enjoyed by Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.
