The lawyer for an Irish nanny facing charges over the death of a baby girl in Boston has said aspects of the case against Aisling McCarthy Brady “don’t add up”.

Melinda Thompson said there were anomalies in the police timeline of the case and that the Irishwoman, originally from Co Cavan, had also been looking after a seven-month-old boy in addition to one-year-old Rehma Sabir.

Ms Thompson was quoted in the Boston Herald as saying that aspects of the case were keeping her up at night, and she was of the firm belief that Ms Brady had not harmed Rehma.
