Kian happy pregnant Kelly is on team

Kian Egan, coach on The Voice, said he is delighted to have Traveller beauty Kelly Mongan on his team.

The 19-year-old, who was also on the 2fm show with Ryan Tubridy yesterday, revealed she was 26 weeks pregnant but said she did not believe it would affect her live performances.

She said: “I’m due at the end of April. Pregnant women can be very healthy. I am very healthy and hopefully it won’t be any downfall for the show. Beyoncé was still on stage when she was pregnant.”

And her coach Kian Egan said he was aware of the pregnancy although he did not know she was expecting when he told her he would like to change her image at the blind auditions.

He said: “It will be a case of standing on stage and singing the songs and being herself. It will help for the emotional side of things.”

He also said he believes female contestants on the show are choosing his rival coach Bressie because of his heartthrob status.

He said his own pin-up status was not working in the same way because contestants were intimidated by his candid critiques.

When Ryan Tubridy queried the singer about his own female following after 14 years in Westlife, the father of one said he ha been told contestants were too afraid to pick him.

Despite the on-screen bickering between the Sligo star and Bressie, he insisted yesterday there were no hard feelings between the pair.
