Two Limerick charities yesterday hailed a Dublin woman whose will means they will share €500,000 for their work in animal welfare.

Elizabeth Burke, who lived on Ailesbury Rd in Dublin, left an estate valued at €12,309,728.

Of this, the former owner of Stackallen Stud in Meath bequeathed €500,000 to the Limerick branch of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
