Googlers put footie top of search league

Even if Euro 2012 left us with little save a reputation for ceaseless singing, we still couldn’t stop googling the tournament.

According to Google’s annual Zeitgeist — which takes a look at the top trending and most popular search terms among Irish users on the internet — Euro 2012 took top spot overall as well as topping the news search query.

All told, we’re still a nation of hopeless, if confused, romantics with “Love” topping the list of “What is..?” queries.
