O’Dowd over the Moone as plaudits roll in from both sides of the globe

Ireland’s hottest actor Chris O’Dowd showed he has the Midas touch yesterday as his semi-autobiographical sitcom Moone Boy received a string of nominations at the British Comedy Awards.

At almost the same time, his recent movie, The Sapphires, clocked up a cool dozen nominations at Australia’s answer to the Oscars.

The 33-year-old actor from Roscommon took to Twitter yesterday to express his delight at the success of his latest projects.
