Finance Minister Michael Noonan was accused of being “feeble” after failing to tackle bailed-out bank AIB over its generous pension culture.

Fianna Fáil’s finance spokesman, Michael McGrath, made the charge as he called for emergency powers to be used to reduce the payments at the nationalised institution.

Mr Noonan said he could not act against the bank because of the bailout deals done between it and the previous government.
