Grammy winner Adele has given birth to a boy, according to reports. The news comes as rugby star Brian O’Driscoll and actress wife Amy Huberman said they are expecting.
Adele, 24, had her first child with boyfriend Simon Konecki on Friday night.
The voice behind the latest James Bond theme, Adele announced her pregnancy on her official website in June, and said she and Konecki were “over the moon” at the news.
The June post telling of her baby joy is the singer’s most recent contribution on her blog.
She wrote: “I’m delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together.
“I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx.”
The London-born singer had the world’s biggest-selling album last year with 21, which sold more than 17m copies and spent 35 weeks at the top of the Irish album chart.
It earned her six Grammys, two Brits, and two Ivor Novello awards, and is thought to contain a series of songs written about her ex-boyfriend.
She reportedly met Konecki, CEO of water charity Drop4Drop, in the summer of 2011.
Meanwhile, the O’Driscolls are said to be “over the moon” after confirming they are expecting their first child.
“It’s going to be an adventure for both of us,” Huberman said over the weekend.
Brian O’Driscoll recently revealed on The Ray D’Arcy Show that he wouldn’t mind being a house husband in the future.
However, in an interview over the weekend, Amy said she can’t see him staying at home full-time.
“I don’t think he’d be satisfied to just stay at home and be a house husband. I think when he says that, what he means is that he’d travel with me for work and keep his business interests going.
“He is incredibly supportive. He has had the career he always wanted and he wants that for me too,” said the star of hit comedy Threesome.
