SuperValu joins forces with new suppliers for own-brand rollout

SuperValu yesterday announced contracts worth over €80m with 104 Irish suppliers for 2012 as part of the continued rollout of its own-brand range.

The contracts, announced at the National Ploughing Championships in Heathpark, New Ross, will form part of SuperValu’s strategy “to source Irish wherever possible and to reinvest back into the Irish economy”.

In 2011, the total purchases of Irish goods and services made by SuperValu was worth over €1.6bn to the Irish economy, serving to create and protect almost 30,000 Irish jobs.
