Houses prices across the country rose marginally last month but properties are still only worth around half of what they could command at the height of the boom.

CSO: Houses prices across country rose marginally last month

Residential property prices nationally rose by 0.5% in August, up on another smaller increase the previous month, according to the latest figures released by the CSO.

However, despite the successive monthly increases, at a national level residential property prices fell in the year to August by 11.8% overall, and experts say it is too early to say if the worst is over for the property market.
