Gardaí on red alert for retaliation to Limerick man’s murder

Extra Garda patrols were mounted in the Moyross estate in Limerick last night after a local man died from bullet wounds he received on Sunday at his brother’s wedding.

A murder investigation was under way in both Limerick and Clare after Robert Sheehan, aged 21, died at about 4pm in the Mid-Western Regional Hospital.

Up to 100 gardaí are involved in the hunt for Mr Sheehan’s killer and at least two suspected accomplices.
