Only 3,200 get second-round offers due to huge uptake of college places

The huge uptake of college places over the past week means about 3,200 people are getting an offer from the CAO this morning.

Almost 700 (over 77%) of the 875 level-8 degrees have already been filled after a record 50,000 people were offered places last week. Numbers getting their top choice were also higher than last year.

The full courses include more than 85% of science and engineering degrees, and about three quarters of arts and business programmes, with a very high uptake in agriculture, art, and law degrees.
