Furious families have accused an online book firm of “blatant lies” for claiming to have fixed its backlog delays, insisting they are still waiting on expensive orders despite schools re-opening this week.

In two separate statements yesterday, schoolbooks.ie — which has been heavily criticised in recent days due to the furore — said the issue had been resolved.

However, families affected have dismissed the claim as “blatant lies”, with some taking to RTÉ Radio 1’s Liveline programme, posting comments on dedicated Facebook pages, and even calling to the company’s Dublin depot to hit out at the ongoing delays.
