Plaque to honour island babies

A plaque is to be dedicated on a tiny West Cork island in memory of its people and especially to children that died before baptism.

Bishop of Cork and Ross John Buckley braved the elements and joined up to 150 people associated with Heir Island for an annual Mass at Gort na Cille burial ground.

A plaque is being crafted to celebrate the planned 10th anniversary of the island Mass next year.
