Peaches insists she is ‘a healthy sized mum’
The daughter of Bob Geldof yesterday told her 135,000 followers on the social network that she was a “healthy, happy, young mum”.
The second eldest child of the rock star has been pictured regularly walking her baby son, Astala, to in the park with her dog Parpy.
The former wild child, who is engaged to rock singer Tom Cohen, seems completely smitten with motherhood with a string of cute pictures of her adorable baby son posted to her Twitter account, @peaches_g.
But the 23-year-old yesterday insisted that she was a normal-sized young mother.
She tweeted: “I see a slim, healthy sized, happy young mum. I don’t see any bones sticking out.
“I look like a normal mum out with baby.”
She also insisted that she had never advocated going on extreme, juice-only diets to lose weight.
“Stating that I don’t eat is pretty much saying I am putting my own vanity before my baby’s wellbeing.
“If I wasn’t eating enough how could I have the energy to be looking after him well?
“It’s a backwards way of saying I’m too far up my own arse to care about my son.”
Live Aid legend Geldof recently revealed he was thrilled to be a grandfather to baby Astala, although he joked that he found it difficult to pronounce his name.
Geldof and Peaches’s late mother Paula Yates famously sparked the trend for bizarre names with the unusual titles for their three daughters.
Their choice of names in the late ’80s and ’90s for now 29-year-old daughter Fifi Trixabelle, Peaches Blossom, and youngest child Pixie caused a stir.
Even Geldof’s adopted daughter shares their out-of-the-ordinary names with the impressive title of Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily Hutchence-Geldof.
Peaches gave birth to her baby a few days before her due date of Apr 24, which was the birthday of her mother.
She was just 11 when Yates, a television presenter and writer, died.
However, Peaches has said she believes that her mother is still watching over her.
