Funerals of fishermen to be held today

Father-of-three Michael Galvin, 65, and neighbour and friend Noel Dickinson, who was in his 30s, died after their 26ft fishing boat sank in 100ft of water at Breaffa South near Spanish Point, Co Clare, on Monday. On Tuesday, their bodies were recovered from the wheelhouse of the Lady Eileen after it was located by divers.

Mr Galvin’s grown-up children, Aidan, Brian and Michelle, dashed home from Australia having been told that their dad was missing. Mr Galvin is also survived by his wife Liz. His Mass will be held at 3pm at the Star of the Sea Church in Quilty.
