A Brief Exchange with a unique exhibition
Titled Brief Exchange, it is the brainchild of graphic designer Noleen Doheny, and will showcase the works of 23 participants from various parts of the country and abroad.
Mainly aimed at graphic designers, illustrators, and other creatives, the Brief Exchange will run from 3pm to 6pm on Saturday, Aug 11, at Cork Institute of Technology’s School of Music.
Ms Doheny is a graphic designer with the design and branding company Huguenot. The exhibition will also run at the Exchange Dublin gallery in Exchange St from Sep 28 to 30.
Brief Exchange is a group graphic design and illustration exhibition that invited its participants in May to compose a creative brief, said Ms Doheny. Each brief was submitted, shuffled around, and redistributed to a different participant at random, and then each person had to respond to their new brief in the form of one A1 poster.
Creative briefs ranged from the abstract to “Places I Have Lived” to brand design for the London Olympics.
“The main aim of Brief Exchange is to give creative people the opportunity to work on something beautiful for themselves and their fellow creatives without any external forces such as money, opinions, or impossible deadlines having any impact on their work,” said Ms Doheny.
“Local agencies have been invited to come along too, to hopefully engage in creative discussions and perhaps collaborate on future projects.”
