One of Cork’s best known market streets will host a huge festival celebrating the city’s heritage and music as part of this year’s heritage day event.

Nearly 40 historic buildings, including the Masonic Hall, home of the Freemasons since 1844, and the Unitarian Church on Prince’s St, the oldest documented surviving building in the city, will open to the public as part of the Aug 18 maritime-themed event.

Cork City Council also announced details yesterday of an eclectic mix of guided walking and cycling tours, exhibitions, displays, and lectures.
