Migration agencies say they have been inundated with calls from Canadian employers in recent months looking for the 5,350 Irish people under the age of 36 who had their working holiday visas granted this year.

While it was said during the boom years that people came to Ireland to do the jobs the Irish would not do, it seems Irish people are now being sought out to work as chambermaids and drivers, as well as ground workers, warehouse operatives, and diesel mechanics.
