Rural Ireland abandoned by bank, claims SF

Rural Ireland has been abandoned by AIB, Sinn Féin has claimed.

The party’s finance spokesperson Pearse Doherty has accused the bank of concentrating on urban areas as it shuts 67 branches across the country.

Mr Doherty also attacked the bank for hiking up mortgage interest rates after the European Central Bank had reduced its rates.
