County council says it needs €10m for flood repairs
To date, however, the local authority has only received €250,000 from Environment Minister Phil Hogan to deal with “exceptional costs” incurred by the Jun 28 floods which caused devastation in areas such as Douglas, Clonakilty and Glanmire.
County manager Martin Riordan said he would have hoped for more aid from the minister but acknowledged any additional funding in the current financial climate was welcome.
