A century on, Lusitania wreckage is disintegrating

Nearly 100 years after being torpedoed, the wreck of the Lusitania is disintegrating in 300ft of water off the Cork coast.

A special documentary to be screened next Sunday on the National Geographic channel will show what may be final glimpses of the liner.

The programme focuses on the century-old mystery of why the ship sank so fast after being attacked by a German submarine.
