JP McManus Foundation gives €30m to charity

A charitable foundation set up by businessman JP McManus has donated over €30m to causes in Ireland and abroad over the past five years.

Accounts filed to the Companies Registration Office show JP McManus Charitable Foundation Ltd, which has been in existence since 2000, has donated €30.3m between 2007 and 2011.

The amount of money donated last year more than doubled to €4.7m from €1.8m in 2010.
