Town stunned after tragic death of 14-year-old

A town has been stunned by the tragic death of a teenager described as a very promising GAA player and hugely popular in the community.

John Coffey’s body was found on Monday by his older brother, Mikey, at their grandfather’s house in Killarney, Co Kerry, shortly before midnight.

His unexpected death has caused widespread shock, and prompted warm tributes from those that knew him. His heartbroken family has described John as always being happy and friendly.
