A teenage girl who suffered a shoulder injury at birth yesterday settled her High Court action for €380,000.

The High Court heard that Mary Griffin from Shanacloon, Fermoy, Co Cork, has Erbs palsy.

Through her father, Donal, the 15-year-old had sued consultant obstetrician Patrick Kieran of Orchard Road, Cork City, and Bon Secours Health System Limited, College Rd, Cork, over alleged negligence during her birth at the Bon Secours Hospital, Cork, in 1997.
