Appeals may be allowed in parking fine mix-up

Motorists given parking fines in a Cork suburb may have the right of appeal following an “unforeseen” teething problem: a city-county boundary.

The introduction of pay parking in county council-controlled areas of Douglas last month has led to a lot of confusion.

The difficulties arose due to different administration systems and charges being imposed by the county council and the city council, both of which have control of parts of the suburb.
