Catherine gets in gear for new lease of life

A disabled Cork woman is gearing up for a new lease of life — after receiving a customised car thanks to the generosity of a bereaved Cork family.

In an incredible show of generosity, the family of Tony O’Donovan, a 37-year-old computer scientist who died in February, have donated his customised car to Catherine Shortt, a 29-year-old from Mahon with the rare disability arthrogryposis.

The transaction was facilitated by the Ray D’Arcy Show on Today FM yesterday.
