The Fiscal Treaty: Winners and Losers

Winners:

Micheál Martin: Struggling to make much of an impact as opposition leader but Mr Martin, a former foreign affairs minister, is at home on European issues and it showed as he led Fianna Fáil’s campaign for a yes vote with real conviction.

Mary Lou McDonald: Sinn Féin may not have won the day, but the party definitely became de facto leaders of the no side and garnered invaluable publicity, with Ms McDonald particularly effective.
