Gardaí to question man recovering from attack with broken bottle

Detectives are planning to speak to a 31-year-old man who is recovering after he was stabbed in the neck with a broken bottle.

The victim, a single man, has made a remarkable recovery since he lost a considerable amount of blood and had to undergo several hours of emergency surgery following the stabbing, which occurred on the northside of Cork City on Monday.

Gardaí continue to seek a motive for the attack, which took place in a lane near a Catholic church.
