One third of homeowners have no mortgage

More than a third of people have no mortgage debt attached to their home.

A further analysis of the census showed while the majority of the population has been coping with a mortgage burden, a significant number of people have the debt behind them.

Figures reveal more people own their own home in Mayo and Roscommon than anywhere else.
