Apple expansion ‘a vote of confidence in our country’

Taoiseach Enda Kenny has hailed technology giant Apple’s announcement that it is to create 500 jobs with the expansion of its European headquarters in Cork.

“This is another decision of confidence in our country, in our future,” he said.

“It’s an indication that when you speak to chief executives and boards of multinationals, the way they look at Ireland is very different from the way that people at home look at our own country.”
