Hogan to clamp down on use of ‘smoky’ coal

Phil Hogan is to clamp down on the use of ‘smoky’ coal and possibly other fuels in restricted areas.

The Environment Minister is considering sanctions such as fines against people breaking the rules.

Mr Hogan is considering extending the ban on the sale, marketing and distribution of restricted fuels and regulating the burning of such fuels.
