Howlin signals short-term hike in taxes for higher earners on the way

Public Expenditure Minister Brendan Howlin has signalled that a temporary increase in taxes for higher earners may be on the way.

Ahead of Labour’s conference this weekend, the senior party minister suggested there was an opportunity for further taxes to help the ailing economy.

Commenting on Britain’s 50% level of taxation for higher earners, he said that further taxation for the wealthier should be considered here.
