Former taoiseach Bertie Ahern has lamented how “times have changed” for him as he awaits legal advice on whether to challenge the findings of the Mahon Tribunal.

He said he wants “clarity” from the tribunal which found he was not guilty of corruption, but had failed to tell the truth about his personal finances and “dig out” payments.

“They say I was innocent but guilty. They are a different kettle of fish. They say I am clear, but then they say these are reasons why I am not in the clear.
