Dialogue over trademust be used to advance human rights

We cannot let trade opportunities with China blind us to our responsibility to support human rights activists there, writes Colm O’Gorman

CHINA is the world’s number one executioner, executing more of its own people every year than every other country in the world combined.

A minimum of 190,000 people are held in “administrative detention”, many of them in forced labour camps. Human rights activists are targeted for harassment and arrest, while the use of torture is endemic.
