Margaret’s fashionable double

A gambler would surely have been given long odds for a fashion stakes double so it was hats off yesterday to Margaret Connolly from Mullingar, Co Westmeath, who was judged best dressed lady at Cheltenham, having emerged equally triumphant in a similar competition at Leopardstown less than a month ago.

Not only that, but Ms Connolly, 23, from Multyfarnham, wore the same outfit on both occasions, proving that recycling is all the rage in these recessionary times.

The Heaton’s sales assistant did the double with her 1950s-style Lilli Ann dress and coat, suede gloves, and brown bag, both from House of Fraser. Only the shoes were different. This time she sported a pair by Dorothy Perkins while she wore shoes from Barratts at the Hennessy meeting.
