WHAT HE PROMISED

Recovery, in a word. Kenny made clear that, as Taoiseach, he would seek to fix the broken public finances and turn around the economy, and do so while protecting the vulnerable. He adopted a mantra: to make Ireland by 2016 “the best small country in the world in which to do business, raise a family and grow old with dignity”.
