French prosecutors will tomorrow continue their bid to bring a case against Ian Bailey and ask the Irish courts for permission to obtain his diaries.

Last week, the Supreme Court denied the French request to extradite Mr Bailey to be questioned in relation to the death of Sophie Toscan du Plantier in West Cork in 1996.

The five-judge panel said that unless Mr Bailey was to be put on trial for a crime committed in France, it could not authorise his extradition.
