2,400 complaints over food

A tooth in a fruit loaf, a false nail in custard, pieces of metal in a takeaway meal and a dead rodent in a bag of bananas.

These are some of the complaints made last year to the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI).

Among the 2,415 complaints received was a packet of meatballs that contained a bolt, complete with nut and washer.
