VEC has brief discussion on audit

The VEC was meeting for the first time since the audit came before the Oireachtas Public Accounts Committee last week, and the matter was raised by Clonakilty Cllr Humphrey Deegan.

The Fine Gael councillor, who resigned as chair of the county VEC’s audit committee last September after being criticised by fellow members for breaching confidentiality, asked that a transcript of the PAC proceedings be made available to every member of the VEC, so they could have it read for the next meeting.
