Despite the Government’s declaration that city and county enterprise boards will be dissolved this year, key stakeholders on those boards remain in the dark as to how their replacements will be operated.

In its latest jobs plan, published on Monday, theDepartment of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation said it was establishing a “new, one-stop-shop, micro enterprise support structure through the dissolution of the existing CEB offices and the creation of a new Micro Enterprise and Small Business Unit in Enterprise Ireland”.

It said the unit would work with local authorities to establish a new network of Local Enterprise Offices (LEOs) in each authority.
