Kellie proves she’s worth it

Cheryl Cole has chosen an Irish teenager to join her in the latest L’Oréal TV ad campaign and to speak the immortal words: “Because I’m worth it.”

Kellie proves she’s worth it

Kellie Anne Purtell, from Leixlip, Co Kildare, follows the likes of Beyoncé and Eva Longoria in uttering the catchphrase.

Kellie caught the eye of judges when she posted a photo on L’Oréal’s facebook campaign page.

L’Oréal Casting Creme Gloss TV campaign asked people from Britain and Ireland to post a picture of themselves on Facebook in order to be in with a chance to star in the campaign.

The 17 year old was one of 50 selected for the final audition in London.

“I posted the photo but had never done anything like this before so I didn’t think much of it. Then they called me over to London to audition in front of the whole team, including Cheryl,” said Kellie.

Kellie then had to post a video online where she gave her best performance of the catchphrase.

And it was the Girls Aloud singer that chose Kellie to star alongside her.

“I’m a massive Cheryl fan so it was amazing. I couldn’t believe she picked me. She was so nice and gave me loads of tips as it was my first time filming something.

“She also loved the Irish accent and kept trying to imitate mine.”

While they were filming in London, Cheryl gave Kellie the chance to see Shrek The Musical where she watched Cheryl’s fellow Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh perform.

Kellie attends the Billie Barry Stage School, which has seen her in the spotlight more than once.

Her Irish dancing has seen her perform alongside acts such as Take That and Jedward, as well as the Irish Film and Television Awards.

It is Kellie’s first time taking part in modelling, and she said the experience had left her very interested in pursuing modelling further.

The new L’Oréal campaign is due to be unveiled at the end of February.
