Killer infection traced to taps

A seventh child has been diagnosed as carrying a killer infection that killed three babies in a Belfast hospital.

The outbreak has been traced to taps in the neo-natal unit.

Taps and pipe work in the Royal Jubilee Maternity Hospital room will be removed as experts try to eradicate the pseudomonas bacteria, the North’s health minister Edwin Poots told the Stormont Assembly.
