‘No decision’ on future of ESB this week

The decision on the ESB’s future will not be taken this week, the Government said.

It was reported yesterday that the Coalition intended to abandon plans to sell a minority stake in the energy company, and that the issue would be discussed at Cabinet this week.

But Coalition spokespersons said the issue was not due to come up in tomorrow’s Cabinet meeting and insisted no decision had yet been taken about the company’s future.
