MEN are twice as likely to be diagnosed with diabetes or pre-diabetes, a major study has found.

The Vhi Healthcare screening project also reveals that more than three-quarters of men were found to be overweight or obese, compared to over half of that (54%) of women.

The screening project has been under way since January 2009 and, to date, over 24,000 people have been screened for type II diabetes and cardiovascular risk factors.
