Poll: 26% will not pay €100 home tax

MORE than one quarter of people who know they are liable for the new household charge say they will not pay it.

The finding is contained in an opinion poll, which shows support for the Government has marginally improved despite last month’s hairshirt budget.

The Red C poll shows Fine Gael on 33%, up one point since the previous poll in November, and Labour on 16%, also up one point.
