ENDA KENNY has denied any advance knowledge of the controversial letters sent to pensioners but admitted the issue could have been handled better.

However, the Taoiseach did not take any personal responsibility, instead pointing the finger of blame at the Revenue Commissioners.

Quizzed on the issue by Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin on the Dáil’s return yesterday, Mr Kenny first said he was “not aware of the extent” of the letters being issued by Revenue.
