Bail for man accused of New Year’s Day assault

A CORKMAN has been remanded on bail after being charged with the assault of a man who remains critically ill in hospital.

Roy O’Driscoll, aged 23, of Rossa Avenue, College Wood, Mallow, appeared before a sitting of Fermoy District Court, where he was charged with a Section 3 assault.

The injured man, Gerard O’Connell, who is in his 40s, remains in a critical condition.
